INT. NOGA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
OVERHEAD SHOT of the table. NOGA’s laptop sits open among scattered papers. An open copy of “Dungeons and Dragons for Dummies” sits beside the laptop
Two books are open on the table: “Dungeons and Dragons for Dummies” and “The DM Handbook.”
CLOSE on the laptop.
Written on the document is “NPC”. Under that it says in big text,“stop forgetting about him.”
CUT TO:
SHORT MONTAGE of the players throughout the summer:
SULO works at a cafe, chatting with customers.
NOGA sits half-asleep on a plane.
THEO corrals screaming children as a camp counselor.
SANTIAGO reads to his younger brothers.
SULO stares out the window during a family roadtrip.
NOGA wanders through a bookstore.
THEO bags groceries.
SANTIAGO grips the steering wheel nervously while a driving instructor stares silently ahead.
SULO sits bored out of their mind in a lifeguard chair.
ETC…
CUT TO:
NOGA gets out of a taxi and looks up at THE APARTMENT.
A car passes her as she moves out of frame--
TRACKING SHOT on the car as it drives, comes to a stop next to the COLLEGE DORM BUILDING.
CAMERA PANS until we see SANTIAGO sitting in the passenger seat of the car, giving directions to the driver. (his mom?)
TILT UP into a window in the building–
CLOSE on SULO in their dorm room, headphones on, tacking a huge poster onto the wall while bobbing their head along to music.
Their dorm door is propped open. As the camera pans across the room, THEO passes by carrying a box.
He waves, nearly drops the box, then realizes SULO can’t hear him.
THEO shrugs and keeps walking.
TRACKING SHOT follows him down the hall.
The music from the montage fades out.
